Hart Law exists to make legal problems simple. We believe quality legal help should be approachable, accessible, and easy to understand. In every interaction, every matter, and every system we build, we ask one question: "Are we making this easier?"

Our History & Philosophy

Who We Are and Why We Serve

Hart Law was founded in 2017 with one simple mission: to make quality legal help accessible to everyday people in Northeastern Pennsylvania. We're not a firm that moved into the area — we're from here. Our office sits in Dunmore, and our team is made up of people who grew up in these neighborhoods and chose to stay in them: attorneys who grew up in Green Ridge and Dunmore, staff who grew up in North Pocono and Moscow, staff who grew up on the West Side of Scranton. We still have family all over the area — in Carbondale, Vandling, Richmondale, Clarks Summit, the South Side of Scranton, Minooka, Taylor, Mayfield, and Dickson City. When you sit down with us, you're not meeting outsiders who studied Lackawanna County from a distance — you're meeting neighbors.


Attorney John M. Hart III started Hart Law after years of seeing how large firms treated clients like case numbers instead of people. He envisioned a different kind of practice — one built on approachability, local relationships, and practical solutions. At Hart Law, you're just as likely to find us in hiking boots as in suits, because we want our clients to know we're part of the same community they live and work in.


We're proud of our roots in the Scranton area. Our firm supports local events, publishes a quarterly newsletter with an events calendar, and lends time and resources to causes that matter to our neighbors. We know what it means to juggle work, family, and unexpected legal challenges — because we're juggling the same things, in the same towns — and we strive to provide help that's down-to-earth and realistic for working families.


People across Northeastern Pennsylvania turn to Hart Law because we're part of this community — we grew up here, stayed here, know the courts and judges here, and understand the challenges our neighbors face because we face them too. As a true one-stop law firm, we cover a wide range of practice areas, with each attorney focusing on a different field so clients always get dedicated, knowledgeable support. Just as important, we keep legal help accessible through clear communication and flexible payment plans, making it easier for working families to get the representation they deserve.
